Everything about file size limits

One file, thirty different answers

WhatsApp takes 16 MB as a video but 2 GB as a document, Gmail 25 MB before switching to a Drive link, Outlook.com 20 MB, Discord 20 MB without Nitro, a CAF form 10 MB. The checker compares your file with each of them at once.

Size, but also length, pixels and pages

A 30 MB video can be refused by X because it lasts more than 2:20, a LinkedIn document because it has more than 300 pages, an Instagram photo is scaled down above 1080 px. When your browser can read these, the checker checks them too.

Sources and dates for every figure

All limits come from one table, with the platform's source and the day it was last checked; uncertain figures are flagged. The same table sets the presets of our video compressor.

How it works

How to check where a file fits

  1. Drop your files

Videos, PDFs, photos, audio or any other file — several at once if you like.

  2. Read the verdicts

Each platform shows accepted, accepted with conditions or refused, with the rule that applies. Filter by country or category.

  3. Make it fit

One click opens the compressor or the trimmer already set for that platform — or copy the summary to share it.

Tips & guides

Check before you send

A file that bounces back after a long upload, a WhatsApp video that turns into a document, a CAF form that refuses a scan: the checker tells you before you try.

Aim a little under the limit: e-mail encoding and several attachments add up.

Tip

Nothing leaves your device

Your files are read by your browser only: no upload, no copy on a server.

Safe for ID scans, payslips and personal videos.
