Fonts for your Instagram bio

Where they work

In your bio, your profile name (the bold one above the bio), post and reel captions, comments and stories. Your username (@) only takes plain letters, digits, dots and underscores: they don't work there.

They show on every phone

These aren't fonts to install but Unicode characters shaped like letters: 𝓐, 𝐀, ᴀ. Instagram shows them the same on iPhone, Android and the web, and everyone who visits your profile sees them.

Mind the 150 characters

An Instagram bio holds 150 characters and some styled letters count as two. If Instagram cuts your text, use a simpler style for part of it or check the length with the character counter.

How it works

How to use fancy fonts on Instagram

  1. Type your text

Your name, a line for your bio or a caption: every font changes as you type.

  2. Pick a font

The fonts used most on Instagram come first: cursive, bold and aesthetic. Click a card to copy it.

  3. Paste it in your profile

In Instagram, open Edit profile and paste the text into Name or Bio. Save, done.

Tips and guides

A bio people can read

Use a fancy font for your name or a short line and keep the rest in plain letters: it reads faster.

Screen readers may spell some fonts letter by letter: keep what matters in plain text too.
