Recolour an SVG in seconds

Where the colours of an SVG live

An SVG describes shapes, and each shape has a fill (its inside) and a stroke (its outline). The colours are written in the file, as attributes or styles. That is why an SVG can be recoloured without redrawing anything, and without losing any sharpness.

One shape, or one colour everywhere

Select a shape to change its fill or its stroke. To rebrand an icon set or a logo, replace a colour of the document: every shape that uses it changes at once, and you see the result live before you download the file.

The same SVG, just recoloured

The shapes, their order and the file's structure are kept: the downloaded SVG is the one you opened, with its new colours. It works for icons from an icon set, exported logos and illustrations alike.

Tips & guides

Icons that follow the text colour

In a website, an icon whose fill is currentColor takes the colour of the text around it: change it in CSS instead of editing the file.

For a logo with brand colours, replace each colour across the document so every shape stays consistent.

Tip

Your files stay private

The SVG is edited in your browser: nothing is uploaded to a server.

Its markup is cleaned of scripts before it is shown, so an SVG from the web can't run code on the page.
