How to use the Image Color Picker

Drag & drop an image or click to browse. Supports JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP formats.
Pick colors
Hover over the image to see a magnified view. Click to capture the color at that point. Each captured color is added to your palette.
Export your palette
Copy individual colors or the entire palette. Switch between HEX, RGB, and HSL formats using the format toggle.
Automatic Palette Extraction
Our algorithm analyzes every pixel in your image and groups similar colors together using color quantization. It then identifies the 6-8 most prominent color groups and returns their average values.
This is useful for creating color schemes from photographs, brand identity work, or finding the perfect background color to match an image in your design.
Using Colors in Your Designs
Extracting colors from images is a common technique in graphic design and web development. It helps maintain visual consistency by using colors that naturally complement your photos.
Professional designers often start with a hero image and extract its dominant colors to create a website's color scheme. This ensures the entire design feels cohesive and harmonious.
Privacy & Security
This tool processes images entirely in your browser using the HTML Canvas API. Your images are never uploaded, stored, or transmitted to any server. You can safely use it with private or confidential images.
